Scattered crumbs, runaway sugar, Smudged butter on the counter. Flour dusting aprons, floors, faces. Golden pastry flakes escaping eager fingers. The hiss and click, satisfied fizz, A cool cold glass, ice jangling. Zips of citrus, crushed and squeezed into Refreshing sunshine. Bitter notes with smooth caffeinated promises. Clouds of silky, foaming milk, Sweet syrup, drizzled and dripped. Artful cocoa hearts and creamy swirls. Tangy yeast and rich dough, Tucked, rising, falling, baking. The crunch of an oven-deep crust, Countered by soft, forgiving slices. Lipstick and espresso kisses, Puffs of powdered sugar sprinkled. Dabs of jam erased with tiny napkins. The errant traces of our small delights.
Just love life’s small delights. Feels like a warm hug. 💛
